Sadiq's Broken Promises to Londoners

Monday, 23 January, 2017

In January 2017 Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan broke another key promise to millions of Londoners.

Despite saying that Londoners “would not pay a penny more”, Sadiq Khan’s fares freeze does not apply to travel cards, contactless caps or weekly and monthly Oyster cards.

Don’t let Sadiq Khan get away with this broken promise.

But there’s more.

When Sadiq Khan broke that promise to Londoners he said that there was nothing that he could do, claiming that he could not freeze all fares and that he did not receive fares advice from TfL.

But that was not the case either.

A Freedom of Information request has now confirmed that TfL gave Sadiq Khan fares advice – and that he could have kept that promise if he wanted to.

The Mayor’s fare freeze is nothing more than a broken promise and it is ordinary working Londoners who are paying the price.

So if you’re not prepared to let Sadiq Khan get away with it, then donate to our campaign today.
